Alex Norris, creator of the brilliant Webcomic Name, will be here to sign his new collection from Andrews McMeel, oh no, on Thursday April 4th, 7-9pm, and we’ll launching a limited edition Gosh! Bookplate to go with it!
Webcomic Name has been one of the breakout hit webcomics of the last few years, spreading across Instagram like wildfire. It’s a deceptively simple 3-panel strip that inevitably ends each time with a character uttering the words “oh no”, skewering everything from the perils of lending books to the cruelty of caging animals, and even its own repetitive structure.
Now London-based Alex has his first print edition of the comic thanks to strip-collecting supremos Andrews McMeel, entitled (appropriately enough) “oh no”.
“Alex Norris’ viral webcomic Webcomic Name, has captured the internet’s heart. The disappointed blob and its resigned "oh no" has become a recognizable slogan, tapping into the current internet zeitgeist of self-conscious pessimism to hilarious and heartbreaking effect.
Now in this alternately funny and gloomy collection, oh no brings together all the series’ greatest hits as well as dozens of never-before-seen comics. With exciting material for established fans and newcomers alike, oh no will have something for everyone. Because, after all, we are all the disappointed blob; the disappointed blob is us.”
We’re so up for it, in fact, that we’ve teamed up with Alex to produce a Gosh-exclusive bookplate edition! Limited to 200 copies, the numbered plates feature an all-new illustration, signed by Alex Norris.
So join us on Thursday April 4th, 7-9pm, to help toast the release of Alex’s book, get a copy signed, and get one of our exclusive bookplate editions!
Can’t make it on the night but would like a copy? You can preorder the oh no Gosh Exclsuive Bookplate Edition on our webstore right now.
