It’s Drink & Draw time with our friends at Broken Frontier! This month is the Bog Eyed Books Edition, featuring the glorious Gary Northfield and terrific Tor Freeman!

Gary Northfield has been writing and drawing comics since 2002. He has regularly worked for esteemed magazines such as The Beano, The Phoenix, National Geographic Kids and The Dandy. He has also had many books published, including The Terrible Tales of The Teenytinysaurs (Walker 2013), Gary’s Garden (David Fickling 2014), and the Julius Zebra series, now on the fourth instalment "Julius Zebra: Grapple with the Greeks" (2018) along with the June 2019 book "Julius Zebra Joke Book Jamboree". Gary has two books published by Bog Eyed Books, "Derek the Sheep: Let's Bee Friends” (2017) and "First Sheep In Space" (2018).

Tor Freeman
Was born and educated in London, and graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Illustration in 1999. She has been working as a freelance illustrator, author and comic maker since that time.
In 2012 she was awarded a Sendak Fellowship, and together with two other illustrators spent a month in Connecticut in September 2012. In November 2017 she was the winner of the Observer/Cape/Comica graphic short story prize; you can read her entry here. Her book with Bog Eyed Books: Welcome To Oddleigh was published in 2018.

Hosted by Gosh’s Clare Wood and Broken Frontier’s Andy Oliver, the evening will provide an opportunity for attendees to find their artistic muse in a relaxed and informal atmosphere in the company of a rotating list of guest creators from across all areas of comics publishing. With such a great group of creators you certainly won’t be in want of inspiration!

The Drink and Draw will begin at Gosh! at 6.30 pm with an opportunity to buy work from the featured artists at a discounted price before heading to the evening’s location of choice. At 7 pm we will be going to a local pub, Kings Arms to begin our drinking and drawing!
