It’s Drink & Draw time with our friends at Broken Frontier! This coming month we are featuring guest David Biskup, Karrie Fransman and Ram V. The event will be Wednesday, June 26th.
David Biskup is an illustrator, cartoonist and writer in London. He recently won the ELCAF x WeTransfer Prize. He has self-published collections of his wonderful design work Seagram A Visual Novella, @potus, David Biskup Still Life, and David Biskup Draws Dongs for Dollars. His clients include The New Yorker, New York Times, The Guardian, Times, and many many more!
Karrie Fransman is a comic creator. She developed an award-winning comic, Over, Under, Sideways, Down about an Iranian teenage refugee, for The British Red Cross, created an installation for the British Council and Southbank Centre and was commissioned to make a Selves Portrait for an exhibition with Manchester Art Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. Her most recent graphic novel Death of the Artist was published by Jonathan Cape in 2015.
Ram V is one of the hottest writers in the industry right now, bringing a host of Indian artistic talent with him on projects like Black Mumba, Paradiso, These Savage Shores and Grafity’s Wall. His short stories and comics Have appeared in several anthologies. His most recent work Includes Batman: Secret Files, Justice League Dark Annual, and Catwoman for DC Comics.
This event will be Wednesday, June 26th at the King’s Arms pub.
Hosted by Gosh’s Nora Goldberg and Broken Frontier’s Andy Oliver, the evening will provide an opportunity for attendees to find their artistic muse in a relaxed and informal atmosphere in the company of a rotating list of guest creators from across all areas of comics publishing. With such a great group of creators you certainly won’t be in want of inspiration!
The Drink and Draw will begin at Gosh! at 6.30pm with an opportunity to buy work from the featured artists at a discounted price before heading to the evening’s location of choice. At 7pm we will be going to a local pub, Kings Arms to begin our drinking and drawing!
