It’s Drink & Draw time with our friends at Broken Frontier! This coming month we have special guests Camille Aubry, Maria Midttun, and Oscar Price. The event will be Wednesday, February 27th.
Maria Midttun is Norwegian illustrator living and working in London. She graduated from The Arts University Bournemouth in 2012 with a BA in Illustration. She regularly self publishes zines and artists books and is also a visiting tutor on the illustration course at the Arts University Bournemouth.
Camille Aubry is a French illustrator and comic book artist based in Bristol. She likes to document stories of activism, whether they are born in the streets or at home, in the social unit of the family. Her on-going graphic novel A Journey to Motherhood was longlisted in 2018 for the Laydeez Do Comics Prize. She is a founding member and official illustrator of the French multidisciplinary collective Sans plus Attendre with whom she has worked and exhibited throughout France and mainland Europe.
Oscar Price is a London-based illustrator created the comic Cauldron Boy is a collection of sketches and short comics following a sentient, flaming cauldron navigating a fantasy world published by Black Mass.
This event will be Wednesday, February 27th at the Kings Arms pub.
Hosted by Gosh’s Nora Goldberg and Broken Frontier’s Andy Oliver, the evening will provide an opportunity for attendees to find their artistic muse in a relaxed and informal atmosphere in the company of a rotating list of guest creators from across all areas of comics publishing. With such a great group of creators, you certainly won’t be in want of inspiration!
The Drink and Draw will begin at Gosh! at 6.30pm with an opportunity to buy work from the featured artists at a discounted price before heading to the evening’s location of choice. At 7pm we will be going to a local pub, Kings Arms to begin our drinking and drawing!
