J. J. Abrams, Henry Abrams
Sara Pichelli (CA) Olivier Coipel

One of the most talked about comics of this year, J.J. Abrams (Star Wars, Star Trek, Super 8) and his son Henry Abrams are joined by superstar artist Sara Pichelli (Miles Morales, Guardians of the Galaxy) for a brand new Spider-Man story. It starts with a simple question, Who is Cadaverous? The brand-new Super Villain is unveiled, the Marvel Universe reacts, and Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson are forced to contend with it all. But it may not be the Web-Head you've always known... "The story shows Peter Parker in a way you haven’t seen him before," teases J.J. How mysterious. Be sure not to miss out.

Writer / Artist:
Frank Santoro
New York Review Comics

From the prolific creator of the Comics Workbook, Frank Santoro (Storeyville and Pompeii), comes a colourful story of memory that required years of fermentation to arrive at this final product. Pittsburgh is a comics meditation on family and identity that unfolds within a complex matrix of time, place and self as it is inscribed within memory. On the surface, it is a memoir of the artist's parents' courtship, marriage and divorce – and its reverberations through his life. There are also the supporting tales of two sets of grandparents and the crucial involvement of a neighborhood family, as well as the mute chorus of the family dog. But the comic is also about the journey of self and how the actions of others influence our choices and behaviour. Surely to be regarded as Santoro’s magnum opus, this is definitely an achievement of cartooning and one not to be missed.

Writer / Artist:
Alabaster Pizzo
Avery Hill
