The Gosh! Authority 27.12.18
Well, the time has come, my friends. Christmas is upon us, and before we all go radio silent for a day or two, I feel obliged (contractually so) to let you know about our amazing JANUARY SALE! Yes, kicking off on the 27th December is our usual annual sale with thousands of graphic novels and kids books at knockdown prices and 50% of all our back issues! As ever, new stock will be added throughout the sale until close on Sunday the 13th January, so keep checking in for new bargains all the time. More details here.
Just a reminder that we are closing early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, at 3pm. We’re closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Otherwise we’ll be operating normal hours throughout the holiday period.
Also, a small selection of new comics (listed below) will be available on Thursday 27th December from 10.30am. Then the following week’s delivery will be arriving to go on the shelves on Thursday 3rd January. We’re not quite sure when it will arrive, but we’ll keep you posted on social media on the day.
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
Writer: Ed Brisson
Artist: Dylan Burnett
Ed Brisson has probably delivered some of the most solid work in the recent X-book launches, so we’re happy to see him spin a new X-Force title out of the pages of Extermination. Domino, Cannonball, Shatterstar, Boom Boom and Warpath are out for blood, on the path of the killer of former mentor, Cable. Of course that killer is none other than….Cable! Well, a younger, time-travelling version of him, anyway. Throw a bit of Dethlok in and Cosmic Ghost Rider artist Burnett, and you’ve got the makings of a good book!
MARVEL ACTION AVENGERS #1
Writer: Matthew K. Manning
Artist: Jon Sommariva
The second book in IDW’s line of licensed Marvel books for kids, very much geared at fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s from the team that brought us Batman/TMNT Adventures, and they’re promising to get weird and wild with things, so might make for fun little book.
SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 SG
Writer: Christos Gage
Artist: Mike Hawthorne
A Spider-Geddon tie-in starring Otto Octavius, once again embracing the Superior Spider-Man sobriquet. Still enamoured with the idea that his intellectual prowess and ruthless pragmatism mark him out as the greatest of superheroes, he is now based in that haven for exiled superheroes….San Francisco! Otto as Spidey is always fun to read, and they’re even promising this to be a surprisingly touching story to boot.
And that’s about it! Check the In Store post for the full list, but it ain’t a lot. Still….plenty of those bargains to be had…..
