Last time we had Oliver Jeffers come to play he was giving a talk on his fine art book, Neither Here Nor There. He’s best known for his excellent and beautiful kids books though -- Lost and Found, How to Catch a Star, The Heart and the Bottle — and now that he’s got a brand new one out we thought we’d have him over to sign a bunch for you.
So what’s the new thing?
In The Day the Crayons Quit, debut author Drew Daywalt and Jeffers is team up to create a colourful solution to a crayon-based crisis.:
Poor Duncan just wants to colour in. But when he opens his box of crayons, he only finds letters, all saying the same thing: We quit!
Beige is tired of playing second fiddle to Brown, Blue needs a break from colouring in all that water, while Pink just wants to be used. Green has no complaints, but Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking to each other.
The battle lines have been drawn. What is Duncan to do?
Oliver Jeffers will be here at Gosh! to sign for one hour on Saturday, September 14 from 3pm. If you can’t make it on the day and would like a signed/personalised/mail-ordered copy of The Day the Crayons Quit for no more than the cover price of £12.99 just drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll sort one out for you.
Otherwise, see you there!
