The third and final chapter, a hundred years in the making: Century 2009 sees the story draw to a final cataclysmic close. The foretold moonchild is grown, his aeon of unending terror is about to commence, and the end of the world starts here, in North London.
Where are the League, now Judgement Day be nigh?
The dwindling band of comrades has dispersed, lost each other in the aftermath of the psychedelic 1969. Orlando continues the search for Mina, while the bitter war of attrition in Q’umar crawls bloodily to its fifth year. A patient in a mental hospital insists she knows the answers and nobody is listening. There’s an adventure most grisly and foul about to be had, but: where on earth is Allan Quatermain when you need him?
Let it come down.
From the 9th of May the Gosh! gallery will be host to around a dozen pages of Century: 2009 by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill, much like we did back at the old shop with those gloriously strange pages from Century:1969. Come in for a sneak peek and put your name down for a copy while you’re here! The book itself should be with us at the end of May. As for that trio of exclusive limited edition miniprints: the artwork for the third print will soon be revealed.
More news to come next week!

Panel 1- Driveshaft are from Lost. Panel 3- one of the posters is for Fur Q, a parody rapper from The Day Today, I think.
Be interested to know who the orange gentleman is.
In Panel 3, N.W.H. is the band from the film ‘CB4′ (1993) a ‘mockumentary’ concerning the rise of a rap group who are not as ‘hardcore’ as people may believe
I wish I could figure out those cops–a lot of people who saw them in 1969 thought they were related to Robocop or Judge Dredd, and they’re not.
N.W.H. is from Fear of a Black Hat, and Massive Genius is from The Sopranos. Queequeg was the cannibal harpooner from Moby Dick (as opposed to the first mate Starbuck).
Is there an update coming soon? “Next week” has already come and gone.
Thanks for this.
I thought N.W.H. was from “Fear Of A Black hat”. And Massive Genius, I believe, is a rapper from The Sopranos (which Moore was a fan of).
And on the T.V. that has got to be Jack Dakkar declaring his war on Islam.
Graham, you’re close. N.W.H. is from a similar film from the same time as “CB4″ called “Fear of a Black Hat” (N.W.H. standing for N—–z With Hats). Massive Genius on the next panel was the rap artist played by Bokeem Woodbine on “The Sopranos.”
Stumped though on the Bowie-esque singer from the Queequeg’s scene. I’m assuming the man on the television is the Osama Bin Laden-esque Jack Dakkar.
Yeah, I must’ve missed that one. I remember the name NWH, but I guess I must’ve tried to fast forward past Simon Bates explaining the film certificates back then =)
Re: Ian and NWH. Ah, must have got a little mixed up with remembering.
Also, I didn’t see that the comment from 20/03/12 so I updated again
There are a few other panels here on this persons personal League website. They show a rather unhealthy looking Allan Quatermain, apparently reduced to selling big issues:

LOl is this the end of the League ?
[...] In the grand old tradition of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen releases past we’re having a big ol’ signing here at Gosh! That’s right, from 2pm ’til 6pm on Saturday the 23rd of June we are inviting you to come queue around the block to meet Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill and collectively annoy our thus far very lovely neighbours. By that day The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century 2009 will have been out for a whole week, being the much anticipated final piece of the third volume, following 1910 and 1969. I’ve already read it and it’s nuts. Totally nuts. You are in for a ridiculous treat. There’s a wee preview here. [...]
